The Sales Navigator Article Consolidation is Paying Off

Hi Florian, I just checked our GSC data to see if the article consolidation is paying off, and it is. Find the details below:

1. High-Level Metrics Comparison (39-Day Windows)

Comparing Period A (01.05.2026 - 08.06.2026) with Period B (09.06.2026 - 17.07.2026) shows significant growth across all combined organic search metrics.

Combined Clicks
37 → 87
+50 (+135.1%)
Combined Impressions
6,005 → 6,542
+537 (+8.9%)
Combined CTR
0.62% → 1.33%
+0.71% (+115.8% rel)
Avg Position
9.64 → 9.23
-0.41 (Improved)

Individual page breakdown shows Page 1 (/how-to/scraping-sales-navigator) clicks surged 500% from 13 to 78. Meanwhile, Page 2 (/how-to/scrape-company-data-from-linkedin) clicks dropped 62.5% from 24 to 9 as the 301 redirect went into effect.

2. Daily Organic Performance

Comparison of original split pages vs. the consolidated path. The red vertical dashed line indicates when the 301 redirect was applied (June 8).

3. Cannibalization Resolution Insights

Our search rankings were diluted because Google was displaying both pages for overlapping queries in Period A, depressing positions to the 15-30 range. By redirecting the second page to the first, we consolidated the page authority. The single page now ranks in the top 10 for the primary queries.

Why CTR Multiplied: Combined clicks grew by 135.1% while impressions only grew by 8.9%. This means we unlocked massive hidden traffic by moving our search snippet from Page 2 of search results onto Page 1, where click-through rates are exponentially higher.
Residual Redirect Traffic: Page 2 still registered 9 clicks and 844 impressions in Period B. This is typical for a recent 301 redirect, as Google Search Console can lag in reporting, and some pages or snippets may still show up in search results before the index updates. Over the next few weeks, Page 2's impressions will drop to near zero, and Page 1 will absorb 100% of this visibility.

4. Keyword Performance Table

Metrics comparison of top 10 search queries from Period A (Combined) to Period B (Consolidated). Avg Pos and Clicks values in parentheses represent individual (Page 1 / Page 2) metrics.

Keyword Footprint Expansion: Page 1 unique ranking keywords grew +284.4% (from 32 to 123). Total unique queries across both pages rose +96.9% (from 65 to 128), indicating Google is now indexing the consolidated page for queries that neither page could rank for before.

5. Action Plan & Next Steps

1. Internal Link Clean-up: We should scan the Datablist site database and blog repository to update any internal links pointing to the redirected /how-to/scrape-company-data-from-linkedin URL so they go straight to /how-to/scraping-sales-navigator.
2. Apply Playbook Elsewhere: This experiment proves consolidation works. We should run a content audits across other categories to identify additional cannibalization candidates (e.g. data cleaning tools or duplicate guide paths) and consolidate them.
